3D Products FAQ

What is Sketchfab?

We've partnered with Sketchfab to provide interactive 3D previews of assets for sale in the 3D category. Buyers can now explore models, animations, and other 3D files so they know exactly what they’re buying.

How do I display a 3D preview of my product?

When creating a new product from the Product Editor page, select “3D” from the Category dropdown and upload your model. We’ll automatically send your model to Sketchfab to generate a 3D preview (as indicated by the “3D Viewer” property) once you save your product for sale, as long as your product upload contains one of the supported formats below.

What formats are supported in the 3D Viewer?

Sketchfab supports a number of different file types including .obj, .3ds, .dwf, .fbx, .stl, and more. Click here to view a full list of supported 3D file formats.

Can I connect my existing Sketchfab account? What if I don't have a Sketchfab account?

Yes! Head to Settings / Profile Info and click “Connect to Sketchfab” in the righthand column. This will house your uploaded model preview in your Sketchfab profile.

No Sketchfab account? No problem! We’ll generate a preview by sending your file to our default Creative Market Sketchfab account. However, please note that we are not able to transfer those over to your own Sketchfab account afterwards.

If I upload multiple models, which will show up on my product page?

We will automatically select the first model in the uploaded set to preview. If you’d like a specific model to be available in the 3D Viewer, make sure it's the first model in the folder, alphabetically. Try putting an underscore before the filename (e.g. “_character.obj”) to be sure.

How long does it take for my model to be processed after setting my product for sale?

It can take a few minutes for Sketchfab to process your files for a 3D preview. Once it’s ready, it  will be automatically added to your product page.

What if I don't want a live preview of my model?

Not to worry. Just toggle the “3D Viewer” property to “No” on the Product Editor page.

Help! I want to list a 3D product, but I can't see the 3D category available in the product editor!
